Whenever We Part - S01

Nuclear testing has triggered the sudden evolution of the Fumoon, a small but highly intelligent humanoid race living on a remote island. Dr. Yamadano discovers them, but only a handful of people believe his claims, including detective Shinsaku Ban, the young men Rock and Kenichi, and Kenichi's sister Pichi (Pinoko). The Fumoon are secretly gathering animals from across the globe, planning to take them aboard their spaceships and flee Earth. They know the planet is doomed-a stellar explosion will soon release a deadly black gas that will engulf the world. While the Fumoon intend to leave humanity behind, one of them, Rokoko, befriends Kenichi and decides to help. With the aid of Dr. Ochanomizu and Dr. Frankenstein, Rokoko works with Dr. Yamadano and the others to build a spacecraft that might save at least a few humans from destruction.
