86 EIGHTY-SIX

The Spearhead Squadron has vanished beyond the horizon, but the Republic of San Magnolia’s relentless propaganda drowns out the truth. Vladilena Milizé, still serving as "Handler One," commands another disposable squadron from the dehumanized 86th faction in the never-ending war against the Legion. Meanwhile, on the Western Front, Shinei Nouzen and his squad are confined to a military base under the Federal Republic of Giad-formerly the Giadian Empire. The new government offers the rescued Eighty-Six full citizenship and freedom. Housed by President Ernst Zimmerman himself, they meet his adoptive daughter, Augusta Frederica Adel-Adler, the last surviving Empress. Yet, despite the peace of this gentle society, Shinei and his comrades find their true calling on the battlefield. Soon, they rejoin the fight as part of the Federacy’s Nordlicht Squadron, with Augusta Frederica at their side. But as history repeats, they learn that no matter whose side they fight for, the front lines offer only the familiar embrace of death and suffering.
