One morning, two brothers living in a small hut with their mother head into the mountains to set deer traps. They move quietly through the dense forest until, without warning, a demon's arm bursts from the treetops and seizes the younger brother. The older brother steadies his trembling hands, takes careful aim, and fires an arrow - saving his sibling's life. The severed demon's arm lies on the ground, eerily familiar. When they return home, a terrible truth comes to light... Based on an ancient Japanese legend, the film echoes the haunting horror of "Kwaidan." "The Demon" (1972) won awards at several animation festivals.
