Knights of Sidonia - S01

After narrowly surviving an encounter with a massive Gauna-at the cost of countless lives-Kobayashi, the captain of the Sidonia, reevaluates her political stance. Once she consolidates power, she sets her sights on wiping out the Gauna in the Lem system, where former Sidonia colonists have settled. Her plan hinges on two key advancements: powerful long-range weapons designed to fight the Gauna, and the creation of Tsumugi Shiraui, the first human-Gauna hybrid with devastating capabilities. However, Kobayashi faces resistance to her military campaign and the prejudice against chimeras like Tsumugi. She turns to elite pilot Nagate Tanikaze for support. Tanikaze, shaped by his past encounters with Shizuka Hoshijiro and Benisuzume's placenta, forms a deep connection with Tsumugi. As the final clash with the Gauna looms, Tanikaze savors what may be his last peaceful moments with his friend Izana Shinatose-unaware that Kobayashi is secretly developing an experimental weapon that could doom Sidonia itself.
