Human consciousness can now be transferred into robotic bodies called "I-Machines," thanks to a rare mineral called "orichalt." But there’s a catch-sometimes the mind fails to return to its original body, leaving people trapped in their mechanical forms forever. This is the reality for the reckless miners of the Excavate Company, a group led by the infamous Grayman, who risk their lives digging for orichalt to turn a profit. During a routine mining job, they rescue Maya Mikuri, a student abandoned by her own team. Framed for stealing classified orichalt research, she joins the Excavate Company to prove her innocence. Their journey takes an unexpected turn, especially for Ido, a skilled but amnesiac member of the crew. For the first time, he might uncover the truth about his forgotten past.
