The Door Into Summer

Marion is a schoolboy who takes pride in his strict "rationalism," dismissing emotions as foolish. He avoids anything resembling affection, convinced his logic makes him superior. But when he becomes involved with an older courtesan, his so-called rationalism crumbles, exposing his deep emotional naivety. Under her patient guidance, he begins to open up, discovering the warmth of love for the first time. Yet Marion remains unaware of the hidden costs of their relationship-costs he may not be ready to pay.
