Sound! Euphonium The Movie: Welcome to the Kitauji High School Concert Band

After giving up music because of an incident at her middle school’s regional concert band competition, Kumiko Oumae starts high school hoping for a fresh chapter. But as luck would have it, she ends up surrounded by people who share a passion for the high school brass band. With the support of her fellow bandmates-some new, like the inexperienced tuba player Hazuki Katou, the seasoned contrabassist Sapphire Kawashima, and the band’s vice president and fellow euphonium player Asuka Tanaka-Kumiko rediscovers her motivation to play again. Others are familiar faces, like her childhood friend Shuuichi Tsukamoto, who switched from horn to trombone, and Reina Kousaka, a trumpeter and her former middle school bandmate. Yet the band itself is in disarray. Though they aim to reach the national competition, their current state makes even performing at the local festival a struggle-unless their new advisor, Noboru Taki, can turn things around.
