Patlabor: The Movie

The Babylon Project is a sweeping effort to rebuild Tokyo’s neighborhoods, even expanding into the bay with new artificial islands. Construction crews use "Labors"-specialized robots designed for heavy labor-to speed up the massive project. But when the man behind the project’s vision dies in a suspicious suicide, Captain Kiichi Gotou and his Patlabor police unit are called in to investigate. As more Labors malfunction and a rogue AI threatens Tokyo, rookie pilot Noa Izumi and her Labor, Alphonse, join Gotou’s team to uncover a dangerous conspiracy with biblical roots-one that could doom the entire city, and possibly the country.
