Kazuya Yamanashi comes from the family that pioneered Perception Art, a once-dismissed medium that now captivates audiences by engaging all five senses. Though he inherited his late parents' artistic gifts, his path isn't just about living up to their legacy. As a first-year at Eisen High School, he dreams of mastering Perception Art-but he's also there to reconcile with Kyou Takise, a third-year student and his estranged childhood friend. Their strained relationship isn't helped by the fact they study different disciplines at Eisen. But when they're unexpectedly paired for the elite Staircaser competition-where winners earn the right to represent the school-they have no choice but to work together. If they want to stand a chance, they'll first need to overcome their past tensions.
