In This Corner of the World

Suzu Urano is a gentle, dreamy girl who enjoys drawing and spends her days lost in thought. She lives with her family on the outskirts of Hiroshima, where she happily assists her grandmother with the nori business. When she comes of age, Suzu leaves home to marry Shuusaku Houjou, a near-stranger, and moves into his household. Homesick and uneasy in her new surroundings, she struggles to adapt as the war escalates beyond control. When the conflict finally reaches her doorstep, shattering any hope of peace, Suzu must find a way to protect herself and those she grows to care for.
