Ao Gennai is an ordinary high school freshman until a strange package arrives at her house. Inside is Gourai, a small humanoid robot called a Frame Arms Girl, designed for movement and combat. Unlike other machines, Gourai has a highly advanced AI that lets her develop a personality, learn, and grow-almost like a real person. After Gourai wakes up, Ao finds herself pulled into the world of Frame Arms Girls as more of these intelligent robots start appearing at her doorstep. With a generous reward motivating her, she agrees to gather data on their abilities and battles. Along the way, the robots begin to understand what it means to be human.
