In the domed city of Romdo, one of humanity's last strongholds remains standing. Earth was ravaged by an ecological disaster millennia ago, leaving the world outside uninhabitable. To speed up humanity's recovery, robotic helpers called "AutoReivs" were built to serve people in their daily lives. But recently, these machines have started falling victim to a strange affliction-the "Cogito Virus"-which awakens self-awareness within them. Re-l Mayer, granddaughter of Romdo's leader, is tasked with investigating this anomaly alongside her AutoReiv partner, Iggy. What seems like a straightforward case soon unravels into a web of secrets, forcing Re-l to confront humanity's gravest mistakes. Meanwhile, AutoReiv specialist Vincent Law finds himself entangled in bizarre occurrences that force him to reckon with his past. As their paths cross, Re-l, Iggy, Vincent, and a young AutoReiv named Pino form an uneasy alliance. Together, they delve into Romdo's hidden truths and the enigmatic beings known as "Proxies," uncovering a destiny none of them expected.
