The Layzner OVA offers a retelling of the TV series with some changes. The opening episode, "Eiji 1996," summarizes the first half of the original series (episodes 1-24). The second episode, "Le Caine 1999," jumps forward in time and adapts episodes 26 through 37 (skipping episode 25, which was a recap in the TV version). The last episode, "Seal 2000," expands on the TV series finale (episode 38) with additional animation and a more detailed ending.
