The Daedalus Group, a powerful corporation, is being targeted by a radical activist group called the Ghost of Icarus. While treating victims of one of their bombings, Black Jack meets Dr. Kiriko-nicknamed "Death Incarnate"-who, like him, charges exorbitant fees but offers patients a painless death instead of a cure. When the activists recruit both doctors for their cause, Black Jack is pulled into a dangerous conflict over life, death, and betrayal. As he struggles to save his patients, he must also prevent a biological war that could wipe out humanity.
