World, Before You End

After the eruption of Mount Fuji, much of Japan is buried under a layer of ash that still drifts down like snow. With another eruption looming, most people have evacuated, but some-unable or unwilling to leave-stay indoors, isolated in their homes. Among them is Rui Satou, a high school student who passes the time by making friends online between classes. When he starts talking to Michiru, they quickly grow close, and Rui decides to meet her in person, even though she lives dangerously close to the eruption zone. But when they finally meet, Rui realizes their connection is far deeper-and far stranger-than he ever expected.
