*"A Knot in Time"" Mayumi and Kiwako, two high school students, are enjoying their summer break at the beach when Mayumi stumbles upon a lost camera while scuba diving. Unable to resist her curiosity, she develops the film inside-only to be stunned by a photo of herself with a man she doesn’t recognize. With the help of Kiwako’s older brother, they uncover something even stranger: the camera hasn’t even hit the market yet. Mayumi’s fascination turns into obsession as she digs deeper into the camera’s origins and the mystery behind the photograph. ""File 538"* Airplanes are disappearing mid-flight, and whispers circulate that the vanished planes are transforming into enormous carp. Elsewhere, a freelance detective explores a dilapidated apartment on the town’s outskirts, where he meets a middle-aged man and a young girl who seems obsessed with fish. When he tries to identify them, they vanish, leaving behind only an empty room and a cryptic note: "This story has been prepared for you, my successor... who should be visiting this room in due time."
