The Rebirth of Buddha

Seventeen-year-old Sayako Amanokawa dreams of becoming a journalist like Kanemoto, a respected newspaper writer she admires. But after Kanemoto takes his own life by jumping in front of a train-driven to despair by the shame of a false report on a corruption scandal-Sayako begins to see spirits and narrowly escapes death herself. In the wake of this brush with the supernatural, something awakens inside her. Stirred by the instincts of a reporter, she sets out to uncover the truth. Yet the obstacles she faces prove far more dangerous than she ever expected.
