The year is U.C. 0097, a year after the uncovering of "Laplace's Box." Though the Universal Century Charter now formally recognizes Newtypes and their rights, the world's power structures remain largely unchanged. The so-called "Laplace Incident" is believed to have concluded with the defeat of the Neo Zeon remnants called the Sleeves. In the final battle, two psycho-frame mobile suits unleashed unimaginable power-the white unicorn and the black lion. To erase the threat from public memory, both were sealed away, meant to fade into obscurity. Yet now, the RX-0 Unicorn Gundam 03, missing for two years, is reappearing in the Earth Sphere. A golden phoenix... the Phenex.
