Only Yesterday

Taeko Okajima is a 27-year-old woman living on her own in Tokyo. Needing a break from the city’s fast pace, she travels to the countryside to stay with family and help with the harvest. During the train ride, she finds herself lost in vivid memories of her younger self-a schoolgirl navigating the uncertainties of growing up. After arriving, she meets Toshio, a local farmer, and the two become fast friends. Over the course of her visit, Taeko grows closer to her relatives and neighbors, discovering both the hardships and simple pleasures of rural life. "Omoide Poroporo" is a reflective, bittersweet story about Taeko reconnecting with her past, as she weighs the dreams of her childhood against the reality of who she has become.
