BLAME!

Zuru, a young girl, leads her team through a ruined city ruled by machines, scavenging for food to survive. Their mission takes a dangerous turn when they accidentally activate the Safeguard-the city's AI defense system. As the machines attack, her group faces certain destruction until a stranger named Killy appears and destroys the hostile units. Though Killy saves them, Zuru remains wary of his intentions. He explains that he has traveled from the depths below the city in search of humans with the Net Terminal Genes-a rare trait that could let humanity reclaim control from the Safeguard. Convinced by his story, Zuru and her team decide to accompany Killy on his quest. Together, they begin a journey to find the Genes, which might be the last chance to save civilization.
