Inside the Inner Chambers-an opulent garden reserved only for the women who serve the nation’s ruler-everyone, from the lowest maid to the highest concubine, struggles under the weight of their duties. On the same day they arrive to begin their service, Asa and Kame form a fast friendship. Together, they promise to face whatever challenges come their way as they step into their dazzling new lives. Amid complex power struggles, eerie rituals, and hidden secrets, the Inner Chambers are thrown into chaos when strange disturbances interfere with preparations for an upcoming ceremony.
