In sixth grade, childhood friends Yukiya Asagi and Miku Sakura made a game out of trying to embarrass each other by taking turns saying "I love you." Four years later, now in high school, they're still competing to outdo one another and win. But as genuine feelings start to grow between them, those three words carry more weight than just the rules of their game. Day by day, the desire to be more than just friends grows stronger-yet neither Yukiya nor Miku can bring themselves to make the first move, uncertain of what will happen once their game finally comes to an end.
