Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence

Major Motoko Kusanagi is gone, and Batou of Section 9 is tasked with looking into a series of brutal murders-apparently committed by malfunctioning gynoids, or sex robots. But when one of these defective gynoids leaves him a mysterious clue, Batou starts to doubt the official explanation for their breakdowns. Signs of politically driven killings and an illegal "ghost" begin to surface, pulling Batou and his partner Togusa into a dangerous conspiracy. As they dig deeper, the boundary between human and machine fades, and reality itself starts to warp. Facing bizarre and deadly enemies, Batou and Togusa navigate a futuristic world teeming with machines and artificial beings-yet completely empty of true humanity.
