Dekin no Mogura: The Earthbound Mole - S01

University students Kuriaki Magi and Yaeko Kirihara watch in shock as a man named Momoyuki Mogura survives a seemingly fatal blow to the head and runs away unharmed. When they catch up to him, he reveals he's immortal. At first, Magi and Yaeko assume Mogura is delusional-until they start seeing ghostly apparitions themselves. Mogura explains that these are spirits of the dead, who produce "demon fire," a light that guides them into the afterlife. Stripped of the ability to carry this fire, Mogura has spent years gathering it from spirits, hoping one day to earn his own passage to the beyond. Now, with Magi and Yaeko aiding his search for more spirits, the enigmatic Mogura might finally reach his strange and lonely goal.
