Alma, the prototype combat unit known as the "Apotheosis Loyalty Maneuver Arms," was created by Enji Kamisato and Suzume Yobane, two brilliant researchers who grew tired of their colleagues' arrogance. Though built for battle, Alma spends her days far from war, carefully adjusted for life in ordinary society. In the small home she shares with her creators-now her adoptive parents-she gradually learns what it means to be human.
