Willem Kmetsch risks everything to face a mysterious monster, leaving his loved ones behind. Though he wins the fight, he ends up frozen in ice. During his long sleep, monstrous creatures called "Beasts" rise to the surface, driving humanity to the brink of extinction. When Willem wakes 500 years later, he discovers he is the last of his kind-mankind has been wiped out. Now living among other surviving races on floating islands high above the Beasts-infested world, Willem leads a lonely life, scraping by with odd jobs. One day, he takes a job as a caretaker for a weapon storehouse, only to learn that the "weapons" are actually young Leprechauns-girls who look human but see themselves as nothing more than tools of war, willing to throw away their lives to fight the Beasts. Among them is Chtholly Nota Seniorious, who embraces her role as a weapon, ready to die for peace. Though he once fought on the frontlines himself, Willem can now only watch over these girls, offering them the care and support they’ve never known. As they head into battle against the same monsters that destroyed his people, he clings to the hope that they’ll return safely.
