Hagiwara Mio is a 14-year-old actress who has found success on TV. During a shoot, she meets Kumagai Ichiya, who bluntly tells her that her acting "stinks." Though his words sting, Mio can't stop thinking about him. She later learns that Ichiya is an up-and-coming director who recently worked with her idol singer friend, Sawaki Aya, on a successful music video. Now, he's been offered a chance to direct a film-and he wants Mio to star as the lead, believing she has the classic, "handsome" charm of old-school actresses. As Mio wrestles with her complicated feelings toward Ichiya, she must also face the challenge of proving herself under his demanding direction.
