Onmyoudou magic was once a powerful tool used by Japan during World War II to gain an advantage and strengthen the nation. But after the legendary onmyouji Yakou Tsuchimikado triggered the "Great Spiritual Disaster," an event that still haunts Tokyo today, Japan was swiftly defeated. To prevent further disasters and fight the demons invading the world, the Onmyou Agency was formed. Now, Onmyoudou has evolved into a modern, streamlined practice used in fields like medicine and technology. Yet not everyone can wield it-including Harutora, a member of the Tsuchimikado branch family. Though he once promised to protect Natsume, the heir of the main family and believed reincarnation of Yakou, as her familiar, Harutora lacks magical talent and prefers an ordinary life. But when a high-ranking Onmyou Agency member tries to repeat the same experiment that doomed Japan, Harutora steps up to fulfill his vow and stand with Natsume in battle.
