The Story of Saiunkoku - S02

Shuurei Kou and her friend Eigetsu To, a talented but lowborn young man, have been named joint governors of Sa province, one of the eight regions of Saiunkoku. They aim to transform the province into a center for academic research, hoping to finally bring prosperity to the neglected area. While Shuurei travels to the capital to secure approval for their ambitious plans, an outbreak of disease begins to spread in Sa province, disrupting its fragile peace. She entrusts Eigetsu with managing the crisis until she returns, but his own unresolved struggles distract him, allowing Shuurei's political rivals to exploit the chaos and weaken her authority. Becoming a government official was Shuurei's greatest ambition, but as the first woman in such a role, the path is far from simple. Now, with the province in turmoil, she must decide whether to rise to the challenge or yield to the mounting obstacles.
