The Pet Girl of Sakurasou - S01

At Suimei High, the Sakura-sou dormitory is known for hosting the school's most troublesome students. When Sorata Kanda, a relatively ordinary guy, gets transferred there, his main goal is to escape this chaotic place. Stuck for now, he has to figure out how to live with his eccentric dormmates, including the energetic animator Misaki Kamiigusa, the smooth-talking writer Jin Mitaka, and the antisocial Ryuunosuke Akasaka. Surrounded by oddballs, Sorata often finds comfort in his friendship with Nanami Aoyama, an aspiring voice actress who seems like the only sane person around. Things get more complicated when Mashiro Shiina, a foreign exchange student, moves into Sakura-sou. Sorata is immediately struck by her beauty, but Mashiro is more than just her looks-she's a prodigy artist with global acclaim, yet struggles with basic everyday tasks. When Sorata ends up responsible for looking after her, the two slowly grow closer, and his desire to leave the dorm starts to fade. Though his dormmates are all uniquely talented, Sorata feels overshadowed by his own lack of a standout skill. Surrounded by brilliance, he pushes himself to measure up to their abilities. Through its quirky cast's struggles and triumphs, "Sakura-sou no Pet na Kanojo" tells a heartfelt story about growing up, friendship, love, and ambition-seen through the eyes of an ordinary guy living among the extraordinary.
