As the song unfolds, the chrysanthemum crest blooms, revealing the creator gods Izanagi and Izanami standing on the heavenly bridge, Ama no Ukihashi. They plunge the heavenly spear, Ama no Nuboko, into the sea, and the droplets falling from it form the islands of Japan. When the sun goddess Amaterasu hides in the heavenly cave, Ama no Iwato, after her brother Susanoo's violent outburst, the gods gather outside. The goddess Ame no Uzume dances before the cave, and when Amaterasu peeks out to see the commotion, the god Tajikarao forces the stone door open, restoring the radiant light of heaven. A golden kite perches atop a heavenly bow rising from the clouds, its light driving away Japan's malevolent spirits. At last, the three sacred treasures-the sword, jewel, and mirror-appear.
