The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya - S01

If you asked people whether they believed in aliens, time travelers, or psychics, most would say no-including Kyon, an ordinary high school student. But on his first day of school, he meets a girl who shatters his skepticism. During class introductions, Haruhi Suzumiya-bold and striking-declares her disdain for "normal" people and her obsession with the supernatural. Startled, Kyon hears her complain about the school’s lack of paranormal clubs and accidentally gives her the idea to start her own. She names it the Spreading Fun all Over the World with Haruhi Suzumiya Brigade, or SOS Brigade for short. Haruhi quickly ropes Kyon into the club, along with three others: Yuki Nagato, a silent bookworm; Mikuru Asahina, a timid upperclassman; and Itsuki Koizumi, an endlessly cheerful transfer student. Though they seem ordinary at first, each hides a secret tied to Haruhi. Dragged into her chaotic world, Kyon finds himself caught up in bizarre adventures with the SOS Brigade, each one revealing more about Haruhi’s true nature.
