The Keeper of the Camphor Tree

If you knew your time was running out, who would you tell? What words would you choose? And how would you say them? "The Keeper of the Camphor Tree" follows Reito Naoi, a young man in his early 20s, after he’s unfairly fired from his job. Consumed by anger and a desire for revenge, he attempts to steal a valuable piece of equipment from his former workplace, but his plan backfires, landing him in jail. While imprisoned, Reito receives an unexpected visit from a lawyer who offers to secure his release-on one condition: he must agree to the demands of the lawyer’s client. With no other options, Reito accepts, only to learn that the client is his estranged aunt. When he admits he has no direction in life, she gives him a simple but cryptic task: "What I want you to do is guard a camphor tree." And so, Reito becomes the caretaker of an ancient camphor tree on shrine grounds-a tree shrouded in mystery and legend.
