The Fable

Fable, a feared assassin in the criminal underworld, has earned a reputation as a legendary killer-one who can end a life in just six seconds. After six years of ruthless work, his boss grows concerned that law enforcement is taking too much notice. To lay low, Fable is sent to Osaka for a year, posing as an ordinary civilian under strict orders: no killing, or both he and his partner-a driver pretending to be his sister-will pay with their lives. But what should have been a quiet retreat quickly turns dangerous. Takeshi Ebihara, the Osaka mafia’s second-in-command and Fable’s supposed protector, views him as a threat and plots to eliminate him. With the yakuza watching his every move and deadly traps at every turn, Fable must rely on his wits to survive Takeshi’s games-or die trying.
