Sword of the Demon Hunter - S01

When Jinta and Suzune fled their home as children, they found refuge in Kadono Village under the care of Motoharu-the village’s honorable guardian-and his daughter, Shirayuki. The settlement was governed by the shrine maiden Itsukihime, a figure few were permitted to approach. After Itsukihime’s death, Shirayuki took her place. Determined to remain close to her, Jinta worked tirelessly for years until he was chosen as the next guardian. As the village’s protector, Jinta’s role was to eliminate any threats. One day, he faced a demon in the nearby forest. After their battle, the demon spoke of a destined ruler of all demons and grafted his severed arm onto Jinta, transforming him into an immortal demon. By the time Jinta regained consciousness, Kadono was engulfed in flames. Suzune had become the prophesied demon, and in a tragic misunderstanding, she killed Shirayuki and vanished. Heartbroken and unable to forgive Suzune, Jinta set out on a journey to find her. As he travels through Japan across the ages, he strives to protect people from violent demons. In his quieter moments, he wrestles with the question of what he will do when he finally confronts his childhood friend again.
