Hopeful, Touma tries to recruit him, but Maki refuses, uninterested in joining any club. Undeterred, Touma bargains his way in, agreeing to pay Maki for his participation and cover club costs. Once on the team, Maki's natural talent and rapid improvement quickly set him apart, sparking tension with the other boys. Yet his presence also pushes them to step up their game, forcing them to take seriously the sport they once half-heartedly played. As the team grows, each member confronts personal struggles, facing the harsh realities of middle school life while discovering what they're truly capable of.
