With the ensemble contest over, the Kitauji High School concert band now sets its sights on winning gold at the national competition. For third-year club president Kumiko Oumae and her classmates, this is their final shot before graduation. Though excited, Kumiko can't shake her anxiety-will she be able to guide the band to success? Her uncertainty deepens when she meets Mayu Kuroe, a transfer student. Polite and skilled on the euphonium, Mayu was once part of Seira Girls' School's renowned concert band, a frequent contender at nationals. Despite Mayu's kindness, something about their encounter leaves Kumiko unsettled. As new members join and preparations begin, the band, driven by their relentless ambition for gold, discovers what it really means to compete at the national level.
