Scum's Wish - S01

To outsiders, Hanabi Yasuraoka and Mugi Awaya seem like the ideal couple. But the truth is, they’re both hiding the same heartache-each is hopelessly in love with someone they can’t have. Hanabi has adored her childhood friend and neighbor, Narumi Kanai, for years, so she’s overjoyed when he becomes her new homeroom teacher. But her excitement turns to despair when Narumi starts dating the music teacher, Akane Minagawa, leaving Hanabi heartbroken. Mugi, meanwhile, has carried a torch for Akane ever since she tutored him in middle school. When he crosses paths with Hanabi by chance, the two lonely souls find comfort in each other. They agree to use their relationship as a stand-in for the love they can’t have, clinging to physical closeness to ease their emptiness.
