On her first day of junior high, Mato Kuroi befriends Yomi Takanashi. At first, Yomi is surprised by Mato's blunt personality, but they grow close fast and start hanging out every day. To mark their friendship, Mato gives Yomi a matching blue star phone charm-just like the one she owns. But when they enter their second year, things change. Assigned to different classes, Mato starts spending more time with Yuu Koutari, a girl from the basketball team. She and Yomi drift so far apart that Yomi seems to vanish completely-Mato can’t even find her. Meanwhile, in another world, Black Rock Shooter hunts down Dead Master. Though enemies, the two share a strange bond, much like Mato and Yomi. As their stories intertwine, Yomi’s disappearance might be linked to that blue star charm-and to the legendary gunslinger herself.
