SAI Corp develops "Giftias"-highly advanced androids nearly indistinguishable from humans. But unlike humans, Giftias have a fixed lifespan of 81,920 hours, roughly nine years and four months. Tsukasa is assigned to Terminal Service One, a unit tasked with retrieving Giftias that have reached their expiration date before they lose their memories and turn dangerous. Soon after joining, Tsukasa is paired with Isla, a skilled Giftia known for her expertise in retrievals despite her small stature and quiet demeanor. As time slips away, Tsukasa grapples with his growing feelings for her, knowing their time together is limited. No matter how much someone wishes otherwise, nothing lasts forever.
