Haruka Kiyomine and Kei Kaname were once the most feared pitcher-catcher pair in middle school baseball. Kaname, nicknamed the "General," combined sharp tactics with Kiyomine's overpowering throws, shattering the hopes of many young players dreaming of going pro. Now a high school freshman, Tarou Yamada is one of those former players. After quitting baseball, he joins Kotesashi High-an ordinary public school without a team-only to find his new classmates are the very duo who crushed his dreams. To his shock, Kaname, once a disciplined strategist, has become a crude class clown due to amnesia. Uninterested in baseball now, Kaname dragged a reluctant Kiyomine to Kotesashi just because it was nearby. When the school starts a new baseball club, Yamada meets other former standouts who also walked away from the sport. Though they’re hesitant now, Yamada thinks if he can persuade these gifted players to return, they might still chase their dreams and win a national title-if they can tolerate Kaname’s endless antics.
