In the year 0096 of the Universal Century, a shaky peace lingers after years of war. Banagher Links, a sixteen-year-old student, finds himself stranded on the Industrial 7 space colony after his school trip goes awry due to a malfunctioning shuttle. To Banagher, war has always been something from history books-remote and unreal. But that illusion shatters when he meets Audrey Burne, a girl desperate to reach Cardeas Vist, leader of the Vist Foundation. She aims to stop him from releasing "Laplace's Box," an artifact with the power to unravel the world. As rival factions-Neo Zeon remnants and Earth Federation Forces-descend on Industrial 7 to seize the Box, chaos erupts. In his dying moments, Cardeas entrusts Banagher with the Unicorn Gundam, a mobile suit that holds the key to the Box’s secrets. Thrust into conflict, Banagher must grapple with his beliefs as a century-old fate unfolds around him.
