Karada Iokawa is a bright, dependable girl about to start junior high, though she can’t stand being seen as a kid. After her parents pass away, her older brother Hiro returns from studying abroad to look after her. His ex-girlfriend, Shouko Nogami-a calm but occasionally childish and headstrong woman-follows him to Japan, determined to learn why he left her. Tensions rise between the two girls until Shouko snaps and calls Karada immature. Later, Karada visits a shrine and prays to grow up. Unbeknownst to her, the shrine’s wishing stone grants her request. As Karada rapidly ages, Shouko, who happens to be nearby, suddenly turns back into a child. With their roles reversed, the two must learn to understand each other-and themselves-in this unexpected new reality.
