Memoru is one of 245 tiny beings from the Riruru Star who crash-landed on Earth in an emergency. Her people are so small they could stand on a human’s palm. One day, she hears beautiful music and follows it to a large house she’s never seen before. Inside, she finds a human girl, Marielle, playing the piano-towering over her. Memoru secretly returns with her friends Popitu, Rupangu, and Pi, but they discover Marielle is gravely ill and may not survive. Heartbroken, Memoru cries, and one of her tears falls on Marielle’s lips. Miraculously, the girl recovers, and the two form a deep friendship.
