Minori Amamiya is an orphaned girl who struggles with a chronic illness, causing her to miss school often. Because of her absences and fragile state, she becomes an easy target for bullying, with classmates spreading cruel rumors about her. Though not everyone participates in the torment, most of her peers stay silent, afraid of becoming the next victims. But two classmates, Takashi Aoi and Kyouko Tsukihashi, refuse to ignore her suffering. Too nervous to confront the bullies directly, they hatch a plan to befriend Minori outside of school, hoping to bring some happiness into her lonely life.
