Land of the Lustrous - S01

In a distant, uncertain future, crystalline beings known as Gems live in a world devastated by six meteors. Each Gem has a designated role in the fight against the Lunarians, a hostile species that attacks them to shatter their bodies and turn them into ornaments. Phosphophyllite, or Phos, is a young, fragile Gem who longs to contribute to the war effort. However, due to their delicate nature, they are assigned the mundane task of compiling an encyclopedia. Reluctantly taking on the job, Phos meets Cinnabar, a brilliant but isolated Gem forced to patrol the island alone at night because their body produces a dangerous poison. Seeing Cinnabar's loneliness, Phos resolves to find a purpose that will bring fulfillment to both of them. "Houseki no Kuni" follows Phos' journey to prove their worth and safeguard their fellow Gems.
