Business is slow at the Ootsuji Detective Agency, leaving Soutarou and his young assistant Saki desperate for work-even risky jobs. During the city’s lively festival season, a string of strange disappearances has gone unnoticed by the public. A reporter hires Soutarou to look into it, hinting that the truth might be hidden in the Dark, the lawless underbelly of the city. Soutarou passes the job to Saki, only to regret it when the kid vanishes too.
