Katsugeki: Touken Ranbu - S01

In 1863, Izuminokami Kanesada and his partner Horikawa Kunihiro travel from the future to Edo, sent by their master to investigate rumors of an impending enemy attack. As human forms of the legendary swords once wielded by Toshizou Hijikata, their mission is to defend history from the Retrograde Army, a force determined to rewrite the past. Joined by other sword warriors, they fight relentless battles against this mysterious enemy during the turbulent Bakumatsu era. Yet their path is far from simple. Amid the bloodshed and treachery of the era they hold dear, Izuminokami and Horikawa face agonizing choices, with all they cherish hanging in the balance.
