Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress - S01

During the industrial revolution, the world is overrun by terrifying creatures called "Kabane"-monstrous beings driven by an insatiable hunger for human flesh. These creatures can only be killed by destroying their steel-plated hearts, but anyone bitten by one is doomed to transform into one of the undead. Humanity clings to survival in heavily fortified settlements, like the island of Hinomoto, protected by towering walls. The only way in or out is aboard armored trains, maintained and built by people like Ikoma, a young man who has crafted a weapon designed to pierce Kabane hearts. He longs for the chance to test his invention in battle, unaware that his opportunity will arrive far sooner than he imagined.
