Ippon Again! - S01

Michi Sonoda, always cheerful and carefree, tells her teammate Sanae Takigawa that she’s quitting judo for good after their final middle school tournament. Sanae is stunned-after all, it was Michi’s enthusiasm that first drew her into the sport. Michi insists that a fulfilling youth should be about things like finding a boyfriend, not sweating on tatami mats. But Michi’s plan to leave judo behind in style falls apart when she suffers a humiliating loss to the skilled Towa Hiura. Things get even more complicated when she discovers Towa has enrolled at the same high school as her and Sanae. With her old rival suddenly back in her life, Michi might just realize that her passion for judo isn’t as gone as she thought.
